I didn't say it was going to be easy

Over a month later and here I am, finally writing something again. This is clearly going very well. It would help if we had consistent, reliable internet. Oh yeah, it would probably help if we paid for it. We've been picking up a neighbors' wireless signal and piggybacking on that since moving in but it seems someone has caught on, moved out, or stopped using the internet altogether, because we haven't been getting a signal at all lately. I suppose it's for the best; I've been having guilt pangs and was avoiding using the internet, as if that somehow makes it less wrong.

This Saturday my brother and sister-in-law are coming to town to surprise my mom for Mother's Day/her 60th birthday. That's right, my mom is turning 60. She would not be happy if she knew I was broadcasting that information on the internet, but hey, she doesn't surf the interweb. That's something those technology-crazy kids do when they're not listening to their ePods or whatever you call them. Anyway, I have been anxiously awaiting this visit from Ethan and Jennie since they started planning in January. We're going to see A Prairie Home Companion on Saturday after they get in and do you know who is performing on Mr. Keillor's show? Do you? I bet you don't. Wilco! I'm excited to go to A Prairie Home Companion and excited about Wilco, but mostly I'm really really excited to see my brother and sister-in-law.

Rachel, the blog will live here for now, at least until we have internet service. Then perhaps I'll figure something else out.

I'm cutting this short because I'm at the library and my stomach is telling me it's time for dinner.
